Long-distance trail in IcelandLaugavegur
Laugavegur runs 53 km through Iceland in one continuous line. The route below is the waymarked relation itself, kept by the people who paint the blazes, not a line traced over a map by us.
Walk any of it with wayly and the trail keeps its own score. Every track you record clears the ground you covered, and the share of the trail lying inside that cleared ground is your progress — 42 km of it — 80 % and it counts as walked. Nothing to tick, and nothing to remember when you get home.
About the trail
Laugavegur (Icelandic pronunciation: [ˈlœyːɣaˌvɛːɣʏr̥]) is a hiking trail in South Iceland. It is the most popular trail in Iceland, with an estimated 75,000-100,000 people hiking it every year. In 2012, National Geographic listed it as one of the twenty best trails in the world. Laugavegur runs from the hot springs area of Landmannalaugar to the glacial valley of Þórsmörk.
