The 14 summits of the Sierra de Neiba
The Sierra de Neiba runs through the Dominican Republic, and this is all of it: 14 catalogued summits, from Loma Gajo en Medio at 2 091 m down to Morne Gros Dos at 1 494 m — 597 m between the first and the last, spread over roughly 47 km around 18.6° N, 71.5° W.
A range this size is climbed in two tiers. The main ridge is the first 6 — the summits within a sixth of the highest, and the goal wayly puts in front of you first. The whole range counts only once every one of the 14 is walked over.
The list is not hand-typed. wayly resolves it from the range itself against its summit catalogue — foothills under 60% of the highest left out, one summit mapped twice kept once — so it follows the mountains rather than someone's memory. And it fills itself in: a summit counts when a walk you recorded takes you over the top of it, not when you remember to tick a box.
